Next Walk of Discovery in 2023
Tue, 13 June
|Mount Coot-Tha
Our apologies for not having this sooner. We now have new Walk coordinators who want to make this a regular event you can count on. So close to the inner west of Brisbane but so picturesque, and be able to see bushland in its natural beauty.
Time & Location
13 June 2023, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Mount Coot-Tha, 1012 Sir Samuel Griffith Dr, Mount Coot-Tha QLD 4066, Australia
About the event
It starts and finishes at the Mt Cootha summit car park next to the cafe at the lookout.
It is a 10km walk and 100% on trails (see photos).
There is a tap at the 3km mark and 6km mark and many taps in the last few km for water.
At the 6km mark, we can stop for a 15-20 minute break at the Simpsons Falls picnic area (see photo)
The 1st 8km is either flat or easy downhill, while the last 2 km is up the Summit track back to the car park
The last 2km will be fine for fit people, but the slower ones will need to take it a bit slower as it is uphill
The walk is expected to take 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 hours if you include a 15-minute stop at the 6km mark.
We can then stop for a coffee (paid for by AAH) at the Summit Cafe.
Allow 4 hours all up.
