This was advertised as a Walk with a Difference, and I can only congratulate Rod Boyd on achieving this. Firstly, it was late in the afternoon, so it was not too hot and being by the river meant it was enjoyable in the shade and reasonably cool. The only issue was the speed of the bikes and scooters racing fast beside you on the walk. But it didn't hinder it just meant you have to be careful.
The courageous 13 along the way.
There are many reasons why going on walks can be beneficial, and members should consider doing some of these walks. Make it a part of the "Give it a go Strategy". Walking is a simple and accessible physical activity that almost anyone can do. It can improve cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles, and help maintain a healthy weight. Walking also provides an opportunity to get outside, enjoy nature, and reduce stress. It can be a great way to clear your mind, think creatively, or even engage in meaningful conversations with others and get to know them better. Additionally, walking can promote social interactions, whether walking with friends and family or joining one of AAK's Walks of Discovery. Walking can be a fantastic way to improve your physical and mental well-being.
But getting to the end and then sitting down with friends and getting to know them better, have a well-earned drink followed by some food. It is a pleasant way to enjoy our beautiful city and some of its favourite entertaining precincts. Even on a Tuesday night, it was surprisingly busy. Best of all, one feels a part of our community and life. So next time, make sure you are a part of the activity; I am sure you will enjoy it.
What a view at night!
Hope to see you on the next Walk of Discovery.
Thanks again Rod for all your work.
